Humans vs. Zombies is a five-day real-time simulation of a zombie apocalypse. Zombies try to tag all humans, and humans try to survive by stunning zombies with projectiles.

Each semester, students at the Claremont Colleges organize a game of tag called Humans vs. Zombies (HvZ). At the beginning of the game, most players identify as “humans” while a small number of “zombie” players try to tag them. Tagged humans become zombies, who in turn tag more humans. As the zombie ranks increase, surviving human players must remain vigilant, defending themselves with socks and dart blasters to avoid joining their former comrades in the ever-growing horde.
